Die HiFonics ZEUS STREET ZST Flachsubwoofer Serie, zu der der Hifonics ZEUS ZST-10D2 10" (25cm) Subwoofer gehört, weise eine einbaufreundliche Flachbauweise auf. Die Problemlöser finden dank ihrer geringen Einbautiefen von knapp 8 bzw. 9 cm überall auch dort Platz, wo herkömmliche Subwoofer einfach zu tief sind.
Conventional subwoofers have a deep cone that keeps the cone in good shape, but unfortunately has a significant negative impact on the installation depth. If you want to reduce the installation depth, such cones are out of the question; you have to use flatter versions. However, if these were made from conventional materials such as paper or plastic, flat subwoofers would not sound good. This is why the cones of the ZEUS STREET ZST series are made of an extremely hard glass fiber/carbon composite material. This is the only way to ensure that the air is cleanly compressed at high bass excursions and no distortion occurs. The drive units with large magnets and 50 mm voice coils, which allow an Xmax of up to 15 mm (+/-), are also out of the ordinary.
The 20 cm ZST8 subwoofer can really show its potential in a closed cabinet volume of 10-15 liters, while the ZST10 should be used from 15-25 liters. Both subwoofers also play very well in a bass reflex set-up, which requires a little more volume but then plays even more powerfully.
