Les paramètres électroacoustiques supportent un large éventail de constructions de boîtiers. Si l'on place l'UM18 dans un boîtier compact de 113 litres, on obtient une excellente performance en boîtier fermé avec un F3 autour de 28 Hz.
Dans des enceintes plus grandes et ventilées, l'UM18-22 est même capable de reproduire des fréquences infrasonores ; une enceinte ventilée de 350 litres, réglée sur 15 Hz, permet d'obtenir un F3 de 14 Hz. Un caisson de 180 litres réglé sur 20 Hz offre toujours un F3 de 18 Hz et convient parfaitement aux applications exigeantes de basses.
