Product description

The ECP-M6X from Emphaser is a 6.5 inch speaker set that impresses with its high-quality craftsmanship and precise music reproduction. The woofer features an aluminum diaphragm with high rigidity and a butyl surround, ensuring stable performance even at high volumes. The powerful strontium ferrite magnet and 38 mm voice coil contribute to a strong, clean bass foundation. The ECP-M25TX tweeter delivers detailed sound reproduction up to 40 kHz and can be flexibly installed in the vehicle using the included surface-mount housing. With a rated power handling of 120 watts RMS and a sensitivity of 90 dB, the set is ideal for discerning music lovers. The package includes two tweeters, two woofers/midrange drivers, and an optional speaker grille.

The Woofer

The new aluminum diaphragm is responsible for the high precision of the ECP-M6X. It combines high stiffness and a direct transient response for extremely detailed music reproduction. The diaphragm thickness is chosen to provide stability for powerful bass attacks and the necessary lightness for precise midrange. The durable butyl surround ensures that the ECP-M6X maintains its precise reproduction even at high levels and thus large diaphragm excursions.

The clean, crisp bass foundation and level capabilities are thanks to the powerful 100 x 20 mm strontium ferrite magnet, the highly durable 38 mm voice coil, and the 6 mm thick, flat-milled pole plate of the woofer. The phase plug ensures optimal sound radiation at an angle – ideal for the intended installation in the footwell of the vehicle door.

The carefully selected components are mounted on the minimalist Emphaser FlowMax aluminum die-cast basket. The very open design with delicate struts gives the rear-radiated sound maximum freedom and minimizes unwanted reflective surfaces that could affect the sound. Despite its delicate construction, the sophisticated basket design offers enormous stability.

Another innovation is the new Emphaser screw terminal: although very robust, it requires very little space and ensures secure signal transmission with its solid hexagon screws and gold-plated contact surfaces.

The Tweeter

The new ECP-M25TX tweeter with a 25 mm aluminum diaphragm plays precisely and with great attention to detail up to 40 kHz. The diaphragm geometry offers a uniform directivity pattern for excellent sound in various installation situations. Besides the low weight of the diaphragm, surround, and voice coil, the deliberate omission of ferrofluid is mainly responsible for the tweeter’s lively, spatial, and distortion-free sound.

The protective grille offers high sound permeability and low reflection surfaces due to its very large opening area. The included mounting housing allows installation at two different radiation angles for perfect adaptation to the vehicle acoustics.
