ECP-M6 from Emphaser is a 6.5" (16.5 cm) speaker set that is characterized by a detailed and low-distortion reproduction of music. The woofer with its aluminum membrane offers stable bass performance and precise mids, supported by a powerful strontium ferrite magnet and a Connex centering spider. The 25 mm tweeter impresses with a warm sound and high sound permeability. The crossovers ensure optimal phase position of the components for authentic sound reproduction. The main features include an aluminum die-cast basket for the woofer, a fabric dome for the tweeter and high-quality components for the crossovers. Technically, the set offers 120W RMS nominal power handling and a sensitivity of 91 dB. The scope of delivery includes tweeters, woofers/midrange speakers, crossovers and speaker grills.

The woofer

Our aluminum woofer membrane is ideal for detailed and extremely low-distortion reproduction due to its hardness and high natural resonance frequency. The thickness of the membrane is selected so that it offers the stability for heavy bass attacks and the necessary lightness for precise mids. The "M" design of the Cambridge surround ensures that the ECP-M6 loses none of its precise reproduction even at high levels and thus high membrane deflections. The Compos owe their clean, crisp bass foundation and their level capabilities to the powerful strontium ferrite magnets of the mid/woofer. Details such as the aluminum die-cast basket with optimized temperature management, the butyl rubber surround, a copper cap on the pole core, a 2-layer copper wire voice coil on a temperature-resistant aluminum voice coil carrier or the durable Connex centering spider with woven voice coil lead underline the quality of these speakers.

The tweeter

The 25 mm tweeter with fabric dome impresses with its warm sound and can reproduce even the smallest musical details. The membrane geometry offers a uniform directional characteristic for excellent sound in a wide variety of installation situations. In addition to the low weight of the membrane, surround and voice coil, the conscious decision not to use ferrofluid is primarily responsible for the tweeter playing so lively, spatially and without discoloration.

The crossover

The components of the crossovers have been defined in intensive series of tests in the laboratory and in various vehicles in order to achieve the best possible phase position of the components. The result is authentic-sounding voices and instruments with precise stage imaging and impressive spatial depth. The crossovers are divided into separate housings for the tweeter and bass branches. This enables easy installation in the original installation location without having to lay new cables across the vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions about ECP-M6

What are the main features of the ECP-M6 from Emphaser?

The ECP-M6 from Emphaser is a 6.5" Speaker Set that impresses with its detailed and distortion-free playback. The woofer uses an aluminum diaphragm and is powered by a strong strontium ferrite magnet, while the 25 mm Tweeter is equipped with a textile dome. Crossovers with high-quality components ensure optimal phase alignment of the sound signals. With a nominal power handling of 120W RMS and a sensitivity of 91 dB, the set is technically advanced. The aluminum diaphragms and a die-cast basket improve stability and bass reproduction. The Tweeter forgoes ferrofluid, resulting in a livelier sound.

How do the aluminum diaphragms affect the sound quality of the woofer?

The aluminum diaphragms of the woofer provide increased stiffness and eigenfrequency, allowing for a detailed and distortion-free sound image. The strength of the diaphragms ensures that both bass and mids are reproduced accurately. Elements like the aluminum die-cast basket and the butyl rubber surround, made in the "M" design, help maintain stable playback even at high volumes. This construction not only provides a strong bass foundation but also results in very low distortion, even at maximum diaphragm excursions. Thus, even the highest levels are reproduced clearly.

How does the Tweeter of the ECP-M6 influence the sound experience?

The 25 mm Tweeter of the ECP-M6 from Emphaser impresses with its textile dome, which offers a uniform directivity pattern. The materials are weight-reduced, leading to improved sound permeability. The absence of ferrofluid means that the Tweeter delivers a livelier and more spatial sound image. The aluminum housing, CNC-milled, provides stability and durability, while the low reflections from the protective grille minimize reflections. Thanks to these features, the ECP-M6 Tweeter is capable of capturing the smallest musical details and providing an unadulterated sound experience, especially in complex installation situations.

What role does the crossover play in the ECP-M6 Speaker Set?

The Crossover in the ECP-M6 ensures precise frequency distribution between the Tweeter and woofer. It is equipped with 12 dB filters for both channels and uses high-quality air coils, MKP capacitors, and MOX resistors. These components optimize phase positions and enable authentic sound reproduction with impressive spatial depth. Thanks to the separate crossover enclosures, there is no crosstalk between the signal paths, which facilitates installation and minimizes interference. This not only offers flexibility in installation but also maximum functional quality without compromising the signal paths.
