Frequently Asked Questions about RVC80MV

What is the image resolution of the Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera?

The Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera uses a 1/3” Pixelplus PC1058C CMOS sensor, which provides an effective image resolution of 960 x 576 pixels. This high resolution, combined with 700 TV lines in the video output signal, ensures that you receive a clear and detailed image. The CMOS sensor operates at a frame rate of 30 fields per second in the NTSC TV system, allowing for smooth motion in real-time. This ensures that no detail is lost, especially when reversing, even in low light conditions with a light sensitivity of 1.0 Lux.

What viewing angles does the Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera offer?

With a maximum horizontal viewing angle of 180°, the Zenec RVC80MV allows for an exceptionally wide overview, which is particularly helpful during parking maneuvers or on narrow streets. The large angle is complemented by adjustable image sections that can be customized via multi-view capable Zenec devices. You can choose between different modes such as panorama, L/R blind spot, or a split-screen view to optimize your field of vision. Adjustments are made through the touchscreen of your compatible Zenec system, allowing for quick responses to various traffic situations or environmental conditions.

How is the installation of the Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera done?

The installation of the Zenec RVC80MV is facilitated by its compact design with dimensions of 44 x 23 x 29 mm. The included 15 m long system cable also provides flexibility during installation. It requires a cable passage hole with a diameter of 6.1 mm, which is easily accomplished thanks to the M6 threaded screw. The system allows for quick and uncomplicated installation in vehicles, as you can use the camera housing made of robust aluminum die-cast materials. This sturdy construction maintains the mechanical adjustment of the vertical image section between 0° to 70°.

How does the IP68 certification affect the Zenec RVC80MV?

The IP68 certification ensures that the Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera is extremely resistant to dust and water. The aluminum die-cast housing not only provides protection against weather conditions but also offers a stable operating environment within the operating temperature range of -20° C to +70° C. The IP68 protection level is particularly important when the camera is operated in harsher conditions, such as heavy rain or when traversing muddy terrain. This ensures long-term reliability and durability.

What power supply does the Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera require?

The Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera operates on a DC power supply in the range of 5.5 to 12 V DC. The power consumption is 825 mW at a voltage of 12 V DC. This corresponds to a consumption of 165±5 mA at 5 V through a step-down converter. This efficiency in energy consumption makes the camera optimal for use in vehicles where a constant low energy supply is available. This reduces energy losses and allows for consistent performance without unnecessarily burdening the vehicle battery.

What display modes does the Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera offer?

The Zenec RVC80MV features six versatile camera image display modes that allow for perfect adaptation to various reversing requirements. This includes the normal mode, which provides a standard view, as well as panorama and top-down perspectives. Additional modes include the L/R blind spot function and split-screen and triple-screen options. These display modes are particularly useful for maintaining an overview and providing customizable insights into the surroundings of your vehicle, especially in more complex parking situations or on narrow roads.

This is complemented by a video output signal of 700 TV lines and a signal-to-noise ratio of 43.3 dB, which ensures clear and low-noise recordings. Additionally, automatic white balance, exposure compensation, and automatic gain control (AGC) are used to maintain consistent quality under varying lighting conditions. All of this contributes to delivering a stable and sharp image.

What functions are automated in the Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera?

The Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera has numerous automated functions to ensure optimal settings at all times. These include automatic white balance, which ensures natural color representation, as well as exposure compensation and automatic gain control (AGC), which automatically adjust to changing light conditions. Synchronization also occurs automatically, meaning the camera always provides the best possible image representation. This automation is ideal for ensuring consistent image quality in various environmental conditions, whether in low or rapidly changing light.

Which multiview-capable Zenec device models is the RVC80MV compatible with?

The Zenec RVC80MV rearview camera was specifically designed for use with multiview-capable Zenec device models.
