Frequently Asked Questions about MA 6

What amplifier technology is used in the Eton MA 6?

The Eton MA 6 utilizes a newly developed Advanced Class-D amplifier technology. This technology is characterized by its efficiency and precise signal processing, making the amplifier particularly powerful. Advanced Class-D amplifiers offer improved thermal efficiency and reduce distortion compared to other amplifier classes, resulting in clear audio playback. The heating of the device is minimized, allowing for a compact design and a longer lifespan. This makes the MA 6 an excellent choice for demanding audio setups in vehicles.

What is the power output of the MA 6 amplifier at 4 Ohms, 2 Ohms, and bridged?

The MA 6 amplifier delivers 120 watts per channel at an impedance of 4 Ohms. At an impedance of 2 Ohms, the power increases to 225 watts per channel. When the amplifier is operated in bridged mode, the power output is 450 watts at 4 Ohms. These different power levels allow you to configure the amplifier flexibly based on your preferred impedance setting and the power requirements of your audio system. The high power ensures superior sound dynamics and robust bass reproduction, ideal for an intense audio experience in the vehicle.

What are the technical dimensions of the Eton MA 6?

The Eton MA 6 amplifier has compact dimensions of 270 mm in length, 160 mm in width, and 51 mm in height. These slim measurements make it an ideal choice for vehicle installations where space is limited. Thanks to the variable mounting feet and additional mounting points, including blind hole drillings, the amplifier can also be efficiently mounted in hidden locations within the vehicle. This allows for a discreet installation that does not disrupt the overall appearance of the vehicle's interior.

How does the Auto-Sense On function of the MA 6 work?

The Auto-Sense On function of the MA 6 Amplifier enables convenient automatic sensing of input signals, which the amplifier recognizes on its own when an audio signal is present and turns on automatically. This can occur either via signal level (SIG) or through direct current detection (DC). This function significantly simplifies handling, as there is no need to manually activate the amplifier when turning on the car system. It also optimizes energy consumption by keeping the amplifier in standby mode when no signal is present.

What filter options does the Eton MA 6 offer?

The Eton MA 6 features extensive filter options for sound optimization. It offers an adjustable high-pass filter with a slope of 12 dB/octave, adjustable for channels 1/2 from 15-300 Hz as well as 300 Hz - 6 kHz. For channels 3/4 and 5/6, the high-pass is adjustable from 15-300 Hz. Additionally, there is a low-pass filter also with 12 dB/octave, for channels 3/4 from 30-300 Hz and from 300 Hz - 6 kHz, as well as for channels 5/6 from 30-300 Hz. The amplifier also provides a subsonic filter to reduce unwanted low-frequency signals through the high-pass.

Is the MA 6 Amplifier suitable for start-stop operation in vehicles?

Yes, the Eton MA 6 is start-stop capable. This means that the amplifier can be operated in vehicle systems with start-stop automation. This capability ensures that the amplifier does not need to be turned off and on again during the temporary shutdown of the vehicle while the engine is stopped. This allows for uninterrupted audio operation, which brings significant advantages, especially in modern vehicles equipped with this type of energy management.

What connection options does the MA 6 Amplifier offer?

The MA 6 offers a variety of connection options to enable flexible integration into different audio systems. It features 4 high-level inputs and 4 low-level inputs (RCA), allowing for adaptation to various signal sources. The connection plugs for power and audio signal are also detachable, making installation easier. The amplifier also provides the option to switch the audio input signal for all channels, allowing for adaptable system configuration to support different audio sources and speaker arrangements.

What are the key features of the housing of the MA 6 Amplifier?

The housing of the MA 6 Amplifier is made from an extremely high-quality aluminum die-cast in a matte Gunmetal Grey finish, which not only gives it an elegant appearance but also contributes to its durability. The removable and 180-degree rotatable machined aluminum top plate further enhances flexibility during installation. This design is specifically intended to optimize heat management while ensuring mechanical stability. This combination of functionality and design is particularly aimed at demanding installations.

How does the signal-to-noise ratio affect the performance of the MA 6?

The signal-to-noise ratio of the MA 6 is 91 dB, indicating excellent shielding from interference noise. A high signal-to-noise ratio is crucial for sound quality, as it determines the ratio between usable audio signal and background noise. Such a value means that the MA 6 Amplifier is capable of delivering clear and detailed audio playback, even at high volumes. This is especially important for music lovers who want to experience every nuance of their recordings without being distracted by unwanted noise.

What configuration is the MA 6 equipped with to optimize audio positioning?

The MA 6 is equipped with variable mounting feet and additional mounting points, including blind holes. These features allow for flexible and precise audio positioning in the vehicle. The amplifiers can also be stacked, which is ideal for applications where multiple units need to be integrated. These customization options are particularly advantageous as they allow the amplifier to be integrated into nearly any vehicle environment, ensuring optimized sound radiation and a perfect listening experience inside the vehicle.
