Description
The SPA250DSP 1-channel amplifier from Dayton Audio offers a variety of features to enhance your audio experience. With its flexible control, it allows you to choose between a power saving mode and an "always on" mode. Analog input attenuation offers adjustment options for balanced and unbalanced inputs. USB control allows easy PC GUI communication, while a convenient one-button function control makes an extensive menu navigable. With an integrated 5-band parametric equalizer, dual limiter functions and high-frequency output, the amplifier offers extensive setting options for sound optimization. It also achieves an output power of 250 watts RMS at 4 ohms with a low THD+N value of less than 0.1%.
Features
Power mode Select either energy-saving mode or "Always on" mode
- Auto: The amplifier switches to standby mode if no signal input is detected for 20 minutes*
- On: Amplifier is always switched on, regardless of the status of the input signal.
- The amplifier usually switches on automatically within a second or less as soon as audio signals are received again.
Analog input attenuation Only affects analog balanced and unbalanced inputs.
- Normal: No damping.
- Hi: Attenuates the input signal by -6 dB.
- USB control: Used for PC GUI communication with the custom PC software supplied with your amplifier.
- Function control: Digital one-button actuator with single/double-click function and scroll wheel for navigating through the amplifier's extensive function menu.
- Limiter LED: Lights up when the limiter is active (red).
Standby/On LED
- Lights up red when the amplifier is in energy-saving "standby" mode.
- Lights up green when the amplifier is working normally.
Controlling the subwoofer via the PC user interface
Volume/Phase
- USB connection indicator: If communication via USB with the amplifier is successful, the LED indicator on the user interface lights up green. Otherwise, the LED lights up red.
- Processing selection: Navigate through the DSP menu to adjust various DSP parameters.
- Sub-in/out monitor: Monitors the levels of the input signal and the sub-out signal.
- Tools" drop-down menu: Utilities for the DSP management of the amplifier.
- Volume: Adjusts the level (amplification) of the subwoofer output.
- Phase: Infinitely adjustable phase from 0° to 180°.
Low-pass and subsonic filter
- Filter ON/OFF button: Activates or deactivates the selected filter.
- Slope: Selects the roll-off gradient of the selected filter: -12 dB/-24 dB per octave.
- Frequency (Hz): Adjusts the cut-off frequency of the selected filter
5-band parametric equalizer
- PEQ window: Graphic track is NRT-editable. Bands can be shaped by cursor or direct input and/or sliders
- 5-band digital PEQ settings:
- Band On/Off: Bypass or activate by clicking on the colored buttons 1~5
- Center Frequency (CF): Adjusts the center frequency of each EQ band, 10~200 Hz, steps: 1 Hz.
- Gain: Controls the EQ gain (apparent volume), -12 ~ +6 dB, steps: 0.1 dB
- Q (EQ width): Adjusts the "Q" value, 0.4~16, increment: 0.1
Dual-band limiter
- Threshold value: Sets the limiter threshold value, 0~-12 dB, increment: 0.1 dB
- Attack: Sets the "attack time" of the limiter. This controls the time it takes for signals above the
- threshold value can be attenuated to the specified threshold value. Range: 1/5/10/20/100 ms
- Release: Sets the "release time" of the limiter. If the signal is below the threshold value, this controls the
- Time required to restore the original level. Range: 60/120/240/480/1000/2000 ms
- Frequency: The transition frequency point between the 2 bands: Band 1 (low frequency) and
- Volume 2 (high frequency).
High frequency output
- This block controls the DSP parameters for the line level output only.
- Delay: Sets the time difference between the high-frequency output and the subwoofer output.
- HPF control:
- Filter ON/OFF: Bypasses or activates the selected filter.
- Slope: Selects the roll-off gradient of the selected filter: -12 dB/-24 dB per octave.
- Frequency: Adjusts the cut-off frequency of the selected filter.
Technical data
- Ausgangsleistung: 250 Watt RMS an 4 Ohm, THD+N <0,1 %
- Signal-to-noise ratio: 97.9 dB (A-weighted)
- Power supply: 110~120/220~240 VAC selectable, 50/60 Hz
