Description
The Power Tuned Z310 ESP is an advanced 10" (25cm) subwoofer from renowned manufacturer DD Audio. Since the introduction of the first Z-Motor generation in 2005, this series has set revolutionary standards in the world of high-performance subwoofers by consistently redefining the boundaries of carhifi. Key features of the Z310 ESP include its powerful neodymium magnet system, premium US craftsmanship and individual design complemented by red anodized accents on black oxide coating. Innovative thinking and continuous improvement are at the core of this product - from design improvements to more efficient heat dissipation to geometric adjustments for maximum excursion and system versatility, the Z310 ESP is not only powerful, but forward-thinking.

In early 2005, the first ever generation of the Z-Motor was launched. It forever changed the way people thought about a high performance subwoofer and pushed the boundaries of carhifis to new extremes. Over the years, many versions of the Z-Motor have been produced, and this spirit of experimentation has driven DD to constantly improve and innovate.
The Z3 series utilizes an impressive 13-lens N48 grade open neodymium motor, just like its big brothers in the Z4 series.
The USA steel motor parts are machined in DD Audio's hometown of OKC, and all moving parts are made in the USA from the best materials and manufacturing methods available.
The current Z's feature several design improvements over previous models. DD was able to overcome structural saturation levels and increase peak and total flux levels by allowing more energy to flow through our magnetic lens architecture via more efficient flux paths, tighter lens alignment and converging flux lines.
The free-flow cooling system was improved by adding longitudinal pole valves to increase airflow to the coil former. DD then increased the thermal mass and applied heat-absorbing coatings in the target areas to aid in long-term heat dissipation.
DD also made geometric changes that allow for increased maximum excursion and a wider range of system configurations.
The Z's eye-catching appearance is characterized by a black oxide coating combined with red anodized accents. The motors are also adorned with custom CNC-engraved designs, and each motor is engraved with its production number, making each part unique.
You'll notice that the standard TS parameters for the Z Series are missing. This omission is intentional, as each Z is made to order, allowing for zillions of possible parameter sets, making a static set of specifications highly susceptible to inaccuracies.
The Z-Series subwoofers are also equipped with the Evolution Subwoofer Package (ESP). ESP-equipped drivers feature larger diameter suspensions and deeper frames than standard subwoofers, as well as exclusive surround and cone designs. ESP subwoofers are truly built to maximize performance in their respective size class.
The Z-Series comes standard with an oversized black composite drywall dust cap, red logo and treated cellulose cone, but can be optionally equipped with a custom suspension configuration, alternative composite dust caps, composite cones, powder-coated frames and a variety of logo options to give your subwoofer a custom look and/or additional performance for a specific application.
ESP subwoofer features
- Carbon Fiber Blend Cone (CFB) - The CFB composition uses a potent carbon fiber-based cocktail to give you the highest strength-to-weight ratio in the industry.
- Vario-Density Extended Range of Motion Surround (V-ROM) - Provides the ultimate in linear control at high excursion while enabling dynamic sounding bass response. The control ribs are compressed to a lower density than the main surround body to provide a continuously variable control system. The harder you drive it, the more control you get.
- Tuned Spider System (TSS) - Each suspension is tuned to specific performance characteristics, e.g. High Definition, Power Handling, X-Stiff Control.
- Super-Frame (SFrame) - Maximizes the spider diameter, cone diameter, suspension deflection and thus works as a secondary shorting ring and provides additional heat dissipation for better heat flow from the coil.
